:ROCKON The Great Falls Assault...

Yesterday was an incredible day of whitewater with an incredible day of weather. Bryan, Jason, and myself went out and did some tight formation runs down the fishladder on Great Falls. The fishladder is an especially fun run. The fish ladder is a run where it has some fairly easy slides with big holes that you can follow each other down really close together as long as nobody gets stopped in a hole. Here is a shot of us coming down through the second slide. As you can see we were not the only ones out there enjoying the river and the weather.

Bryan is in the front with the yellow diesel, Jason is in the middle with the orange Diesel and I am using a head camera filming in the back in the red Diesel. We were pretty close together in this shot above but check out this other run we did, when were were really close.

This photo above is the super close together shot.

The photo above and to the right is of the group going down through the s-turn rapid between the third slide and the forth slide. At the top of this S-turn there is still a log pinned all the way across that some water pours over and makes it still runable. Be really careful here because you could really get hurt on that under water log if you were upside down.

This shot above is all three of us again coming through the s-turn between the third and forth slides on the fish ladder. So just below the 4th slide on the middle right there is a big log in the river that acts as a full on strainer. Watch out for this log because it is sitting in a very deadly way across the current. We paddled to the left of the log but this area is a must scout before paddling to prevent a seriously fatal injury.

So with all that said is was a sweet bunch of runs on the fish ladder.
Thanks to Annep and davemur for taking that pictures.
Later,
-Luke
