i am hot to go buy a new boat but i had some questions and tho i posted to the doubleyouess forum, the site went dead before i got a reply. (please don't blame me).
i currently paddle a WS superez, i am looking for a faster boat more suitable for paddling creeks in the catskills. is the diesel more displacement hulled? is there much initial stability like the superez? is the diesel as agile? i am a new paddeler who just wants to side and front surf and run drops under 12', i have no interest in ever doing any play move, not even a single bowstall, is the diesel right for me? i am an old fat guy whose ambition is to be content paddeling class II-III with ocasional fourish features, a tourist. i've seen the goldilocks quote everywhere ("just right") when people write about the diesel, but i'm looking for a bit more detail and my reseller has no answers. i am 5'11" 230 lbs.
thanks,
vincent

Vincent,
At your hieght and wieght the Diesel 75 would be better for you than the Diesel 65. The Diesel has a hybrid hual. It is mostly a planing haul but it has beveled edges that make it have a little displacement feel which is why it is such are great river running and creek boat. The 75 is much faster than the Super EZ and it is a very agile and manuverable boat. Mainly because of its hybrid haul making it easier to turn. There is alot of initial stability in the 75...especially at your weight. This boat will front and side surf great. If you want to check out the diesel in action, then check out this gallery:
