Is there a correct way to store your kayak?

As far away from Snakes as possible!! Just keep that thang out of the direct sunlight,thats all I do??

I like to hang my boats upside down under my deck, one problem with this is birds and bees tend to get in side them and do things. A cockpit cover would remedy this of course. A cool dry basement is also a good place. Simon has the best advice as sunlight will damage any boat no matter what it is made of.
