So the clearing of the log jam has been a mixed blessing, but I think everyone would agree its best that that massive jam is gone. this weekend I ran the fishladdler twice, both times in glass boats, and while the new logjam between 3 and 4 (thatspot always grabs wood) is kinda sketchy looking to run, It is runnnable with careful boat placement, probing of the area, and safety. 4 dosent have much water on it and there is a log sitting at the bottom, but as long as you are far left your fine. z turn or whatever that rapids called seems clear as is the 5th slide, though the holw at the bottom seems to get bigger and more violent every time i run it. someone obviosly tried to pull out the new logjam because there are some ropes there. the 2 logs are pretty fat. It will take either a chainsaw effort at lower water or some high water+luck to clear it. it was nice to run the 4th slide for the first time in... ac ouple years, but damn i mss the 3rd, and that whole 2-3-4 sequence. hopefully we'll get our fix soon

So this afternoon, fellow racing clansmen Nejc poberaj, Kurt Braunlich, Jason Beakes and I joined up with Luke and Bryan Kirk for an epic day of running stuff. First off, we tagged the fishladdler, running all the drops without any issues. feels good to hit 3+4 in sequence again. the move over the logjam isnt too hard and the waters not pushing as much as it looks like. Luke, Jason, and Bryan went down 3-4 blue angels syle in a pack, check out the photos and headcam video when they're up - the 3 of them were all on the slides at the same time withing a few feet of each other, kinda staggered. very cool. Kurt and Nejc tagged the back canyon. I just stayed the hell out of their way. after a repeat run, we all went over to the center lines, which at 3.8 are pretty pushy. after some warmup runs, everyone carried bac up to look at the 1st and 2nd fingers - high water lines. Jason made the difficult move on #1 look easy, and everyone else landed the 2nd pretty nicely as well. I managed not to do grace backwards or peton, so i was pretty stoked as well. as a finale, Luke, bryan and I walked up to do the 5th slide. All in all, one of the best days of paddling ive had 15 minutes from home.
