I got this in an email:

Attention, Whitewater Enthusiasts, who are residents of Arlington, Fairfax, and
Loudoun counties, and Alexandria, Fairfax, and Falls Church in Virginia:

Whitewater course(s) will be considered by the Northern Virginia Regional and
Fairfax Park systems for construction in the next five years, IF we can organize
enthusiasm for such projects among local boaters, clubs, schools, summer programs,
paddlesport shops, swiftwater rescue groups, etc. at the following public meetings:

We must register enthusiasm for whitewater course(s) on the record at public
hearings and in writing among potential users to be seriously considered, and for
such facilities to be put on the schedule for construction. The more boater turnout
we get for this, the better.

Hearings begin at 7 pm:

Tuesday, April 13, Springfield, VA
Thursday, April 15, Chantilly, VA
Tuesday, April 20, Annandale, VA
Thursday, April 22, Falls Church, VA
Monday, April 26, Alexandria, VA
Tuesday, April 27, Reston, VA
Thursday, April 29, McLean, VA
Monday, May 3, Alexandria, VA
Thursday, May 6, Burke, VA

Details are in the press release below.

Thanks for your help!

Plan Joint Bond Public Hearings

The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, in cooperation with the
Fairfax County Park Authority, will meet with the public to discuss
regional and county park needs for 2005 through 2009 in a series of public

other five jurisdictions.

Citizens are invited to attend any of the hearings to comment, share ideas
and consider the Regional Authority's proposed five-year Capital
Improvement Program (CIP). A park bond referendum is scheduled in Fairfax
County in November 2004. If approved, the bond will provide $10,000,000
for Fairfax County's share of NVRPA's CIP and $50,000,000 for the county
authority. Both park organizations use bond funds for land acquisition,
capital development and renovation and upgrading park facilities.

and a public comment period. Speakers may pre-register by calling

provide contact information, note whether the speaker will represent him
