Hey all you people from VA/MD, let's start posting. Those
f$%&ers from WV have more posts then us. Although we all know where the better boaters are from.
Uh oh, no I didn't. Turf war bitches.
Just kidding, I love you guys (not being able to boat is driving me crazy):p ;)

So what's prognosis for the back? Are you going under the knife or are we going to have to read your bitching every day until it heals itself? By the way my ecological footprint would only take 3.5 planets, so I definately think the survey is racially biased in favor of short Italians. Without us where would all the grease go?
I wouldn't stress too much, it's too freakin' cold to boat. I am hitting the slopes this weekend, hopefully I won't break myself off like I did last year.

Right now I am getting epiderals, hopefully no surgery. So yes, you will have to read more of my bitching and don't worry, I will bitch more.
p.s. to cold to boat? and you call yourself a short Italian man.

These temps would be doable if I still lived up North and was sporting a serious Jones to hit the water. As it is now, I've paddled more since New Years than I usually do by March. Plus I haven't ridden my snowboard in a month. Remember, there is more than one way to shred the gnar bro/brah.
By the way for all you HF folks out there, West Virginia doesn't really start until you hit the Canaan Valley so all you eastern panhandle bitches should recognize that you are really just residents of western MD or northern VA, take yer pick.
Mike,
How'd you hurt your back? Herniated disk?

Clearly you don't know how to read a map if you think HF is part of MD, and i really take that personally because my family has lived in WV for decades my good man. i've lived here my whole life and aways considered myself a WVian AND PEOPLE FROM MARYLAND ARE MARYMORONS!!!!! just like you. So keep your rude ass comments to yourself and stupid little club boater!!!

so apparently they skip sarcasm in favor of creationism in the WV public schools. Sorry if I touched a nerve, but I thought I was keeping with the overall tounge-in-cheek nature of this board.
For the record I am a Mass-hole who has recently been transplanted to Maryland, so, please Mary-Mass-Hole. I'm just trying to keep myself entertained at work.
What excatly is wrong with clubs anyway? A lot of fine boaters (but not me) have gotten thier start through clubs.

 Why cant we all just get along? I have started getting along since Rodney King told me too!!
As for the HF comment ,think what you want but my taxes will show you how that line in the sand really gets drawn.
Thanks to Dan Ryan and the slot machines @ the Charles Town Race track it does hardly feel like WV!!but I understand where your coming from,WV is a much better place the farther you get from DC.

Whoa, i started this thread in good fun let's try not to get to nasty.
p.s. Mark, go back Mass where you belong, we already have enough short italian men in Maryland.
p.p.s. Pete I herniated my disc hitting bottom going for a loop
p.p.p.s Yes Mark, I am bitching agout it again. Oh yeah have
fun boarding/skiing this weekend wish I could join you.;)

you got me with the taxes. My point was based on the fact that finding parking in HF on a nice day in the Fall is about as easy as finding parking in Georgetown. Don't get me wrong, without WV this area would be hurting for gradient and creeks.
Cheers,
Mark

Could this be WV's answer to the Green Race? Ashe-vegas has been hogging the glory for far too long. I think a big reason for this is that they have comps, like the Green race and this new TVF March Madness. I always find it funny that Asheville folks assess thier worth as human beings based on their creek resume: "oh bro I've run the Green 800 times at 400% in a Dancer, done the Cullasaja blinfolded and backwards, soloed the Raven's Fork on a moonless night, and finished the Linville Gorge in 2 hours. And I have never portaged anything in my life." Much respect because those runs are the balls, but there is more to boating than cheating death in ever more spectacular fashion.
On the flip side, it seems like WV folks are just happy to give 'er without letting anybody know about it. That said, I think it would be really cool to have an event that will put the limelight on something in WV besides the Dries. But, where could such a race be held? Most of the Cheat Creeks are little tight and flashy for a good race. Upper B or the North Fork could be good if you wanted to do a Green-style timed race. Now we just have to figure out how to get the Red Bull Arch down to Gluteal.

Man it's kind of hard for me to weigh in on this whole thing. I was born in WV (way further away from DC than HF) but have spent the bulk of my life in MD (much closer to DC than I would like). And as far as the WV CreeKING thing goes, if everyone else is doing it I'll lemming along, but I kinda like given 'er for the good and not the glory.

the big sandys really a small river with a big ego rather than a creek, but it would be a cool race to do. It dosent happen every year because its so unpredictable, organization problems. its supposed to be the weekend before cheat fest, or the day before the cheat race... i dont remember.
a blackwater race would be cool...
regardless i love to race, and i'd like to win one for the MD team

Any prognosis on the back? and how about the super bowl. is it next weekend? Now that the steelers blew it I'm not really paying attention, but we should get together and shout at the TV.
