In loving memory of Gordo.
I wish I could have been there for you in difficult times, and I wish I could have been a better friend. I know that sometimes our emotions are so involved with our relationships, but you had many friends that cared for you.
You were a selfless friend who gave and gave to the people who were important to you.
I never thought I'd see your paddling skills progress to where they were. I remember watching you tear up climax. I remember watching you get trashed in Slalom but still go back the next week for more. I remember two weeks ago when I thought you were going to swim out of 36th street. You didn't.
To one of the most selfless, dedicated, motivated, determined, friendly and kind individuals I've ever met: I love you and miss you. I hope that I can take some of your great qualities with me in my future.
Everytime I smell a hotdog on the grill at the gutter on a summer evening, I'll think of you. I'm sorry it had to shake out this way. :~-(
