hey i started creeking a little while ago and my home creek has this 20fter on it that i tend to overrotate on. any advice on keeping from overrotating? (its a travertine fall with low volume at the lip.) i was thinking just wait a second longer before i tuck, or maybe just not plug at all.

First htings first, do you really need to plug this drop. There is no sense in trying to huck your weight forward if you don't need to get your bow down. That tuck is probably causing your headers. Also you can try to throw a delayed boof just as you leave the lip to get the bow up a little before you start dropping. It's hard to say exactly what the issue is without knowing the drop.

ok thanks, i you're right; throwing my weight forward = bad idea. i just actually got to watch myself on film and it looks pretty silly.

Don't be under the impression that it's always a bad idea to throw your weight forward. But, with a shallow lip you have to get a boof off before you tuck forwad. If you watch videos of good creek boaters you will see that a lot of times they will boof then throw their body forward while kicking thier feet down. This technique keeps you from landing too flat. It is also a good way to adjust your entry angle on drops where you have to boof, but don't want to land flat. There are so many variables to running drops its silly. Good thing it's so much fun!

right, i knew what u meant. when there is low volume at the lip the drop is going to put ur weight forward for u, so u dont need to throw ur weight forward. and a boof then throwing ur weight forward allows u to control the entry angle. thx
