Some friends and I are coming over to Riggins area. What's good right now? We're coming from Washington so travelling isn't a big deal if there is something going somewhere else. Any help is appreciated.

hey whats up waterwacko i think i can help you out a little bit...there is usually a lot of surf in Riggins but everything is in at different levels..right now this morning the flow was 16,600, and dropping, near riggins..1)Rodeo Hole is in right now it flows from 10,000 to 19,000 although it isn't very good at these extreme ends..13,500 to14,500 is prime..Rodeo hole is six miles downstream from Riggins. Any hole move is possible at 13,500 & 14,500. Really fun spot! 2.)Chair Creek Surf Wave-this is around mile marker 199.7 and there will be a green sign that reads "Chair Creek". they say that this is in down to 14,000 with eddy access. I have not personally surfed there at this flow so i don't know for sure..3.)Machine Wave-this wave is right down from riggins. 16,000 is at the high end at machine wave. i haven't surfed there at this flow either so i don't know how it will be..4)Couch Wave-this is 16.8 miles upstream from Riggins. The wave will be down a steep embankment to your left if driving upstream..at 12 to 19,000 Couch gets a little flat so you have to be on. 5)GOLD HOLE- comes in at 13,000 and is at MM 23.9 upstream of riggins. if it gets down to 13,000 don't miss this spot!!! Hope this helps bro.. Mike Leeds... :) you can also go to www.kayakidaho.com
